One String Attached

On the other side was he trying to be smart.
Oh, wait! Is that even him?
Sigh! The eyes cheat often.
Get over with.
Done was she. So is he.
The pain will linger.
So shall he,
Wished she.
Smiles break,
Time slowed;
A hope for the future,
Faintly billowed.
Flipside so clear,
Like a crystal;
Wish it melted,
To adjust.
But is hard as rock.
Time and space await,
For the absolution.
Both part ways,
Only one string attached;
One that needn’t be tied.
Little did they know,
Their paths were circles,
To cross each other again,
The one string, still attached.
